Rotary means a chance to be a part of something bigger. To belong to a group that cares as much about its local community as it cares about the international community. It’s my chance to make a difference in both areas. It also gives me the opportunity to meet others in my community with the same passion and concerns that I have. It’s a nice mix of people who come from different backgrounds. I am continually amazed by the individual experiences at our Rotary club and look forward to working with these people to achieve our goals.
Rotary means fun, fellowship, belonging, donating, & putting others needs before our own.
A member since June 2014 of the Hannibal club. The meetings have been informative and insightful. My fellow Rotary members have been connecting, fun and professional. I have forged friendships that run deeper than our one hour lunch meeting on Tuesday. As a member, I am proud to be named amidst the millions of members internationally with a sense of commitment, common cause through-out this organization.
Rotary to me is the opportunity to share my talent, time and treasure through the service projects hosted by Arnold Rotary. From local community events to the international effort to eradicate polio, Rotary’s mission is always “Service above Self”. Local community events we host include a Trivia Night, Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, Pancakes and Purses event – all events that bring our community together making great memories all the while we are making an impact on lives around us and more importantly, around the world. This is where I can share my time and talent. Our annual donation to the Polio Plus Program is our way of saying “let’s get this done . . . polio eradicated once and for all!” Again, an impact across the world! This is where I can share my treasure. I didn’t know when I joined Rotary the influence it would have on me. I also believe in Prayer, Participation and Payback – I learned this through my church. In my life – be it personal or professional – I try to live by these actions. For me, this is equivalent to “Service Above Self”. I wouldn’t change anything I have learned in Rotary! I invite you to become a Rotarian!
Rotary gives me the chance to meet with local leaders, identify challenges and opportunities, and work together toward improving our community.
